My calling is to foster lifelong learning. I value acceptance and appreciation of individual differences. I am thankful for the ongoing assessment of learning and performance. I hope to help individuals pave the path to their ideal career or discipline through self-awareness, knowledge, and discovery.
My philosophy of higher education is that all students are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment to grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially during one of the most critical stages of their lives. I desire to create this atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. I aim to offer a safe environment where students are encouraged to share their ideas and take risks.
Collaborating with staff and faculty in higher education who are passionate about using instructional methods rooted in creating a safe learning environment for students resonates deeply within my teaching strategies. I believe that learning occurs best when students feel that they can share their thoughts yet accept opinions from others who may challenge their ideas.
Higher education is a transformative social good. As a higher education practitioner, I strive to approach students with compassion and openness and assist them in ways that promote their intellectual development, encourage their personal growth, and challenge them to expand their horizons.
